This summer, the Indiana Writers Center (IWC) is serving 200 students at St. Florian Center’s Youth Development Camp, St. Richard’s School’s Horizons Program, and Felege Hiywot during its summer learning program, “Building A Rainbow.” Instructors, college interns and volunteers help students from age 6 to 16 write the stories of their lives, providing them with vital creative writing education that enhances the writing skills they need to succeed in school and lets them know their voices matter.

The stories our students write will be featured on our newly developed website, buildingarainbow.org, and collected and published in the 11th volume of the anthology “I Remember: Indianapolis Youth Write about Their Lives 2022”.

All of this is possible because of the generosity of donors like you.

As we look toward 2023, we ask for your support to help the IWC continue to serve these and other young writers in Indianapolis.
